Hello First Communion Families, as you all know this Saturday, January 19th we will be having a retreat in which your child will receive the sacrament of First Reconciliation (Confession).
As I’ve mentioned to the children Reconciliation (Confession) is not about getting into trouble; it’s about asking God for forgiveness and receiving God’s Grace to do better. In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Jesus comforts us. He strengthens us on our journey. We are reconciled with God, with the Church, and with the people, we have hurt. Through this sacrament, the Church celebrates Jesus’ gift of forgiveness. Please help your child feel confident and ready to receive the Sacrament.
As the Sacrament of Reconciliation is received before First Communion, I will need all children and parents to be here on Saturday. If you are not here by 9:00 am I will assume you have opted out and your child will not be receiving the Sacrament of First Reconciliation and First Communion.
Reminders:
  • Be here at 9 am sharp!
  • If you haven't already given me a copy of your child's Baptism Certificate please do so now via email mtorress@stcharlespdx.org or bring the certificate on Saturday.
  • Please bring a dish to share during our potluck lunch. Example: Salad or main dish.
Any questions email me at mtorres@stcharlespdx.org or call 503 281-6461
