Visio Divina Prayer and Reflection:
Among the many ways to pray, Visio Divina (Latin for "divine seeing") is a special way to pray with Scripture art. Visio Divina is the practice of looking at a painting or a photograph and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you through the Art. We will continue our Visio Divina prayer this week with the scripture passage John 14:6

How to find a Bible Passage
  • “John” is the fourth gospel  in the New Testament. Use the table of contents to find where the Gospel of  John begins.
  • The number ‘14’ stands for the chapter. Look for the bold number ‘14’ in the Gospel of John.
  • The number ‘6’ directs you to read the verse six.

Steps for Visio Divina prayer:
  • Read aloud the scripture passage: John 14:6 
  • Look at the image. What was the first thing you notice in the picture?
  • Now, look at the whole image. What comes to mind? 
  • What does the Bible passage and image mean to you?
  • What are some things this picture tells you about Jesus being the way and the truth and the life? 
  • Share your thoughts about each question with your family.​

 Jesus used the same phrase "I AM" in seven declarations 
about Himself. This week we will ponder Jesus words,
           "I am the way and the truth and the life."           
  • How does Jesus guide you in life?
  • What truths has Jesus revealed to you?

Fun Facts: When the disciples were confused about Jesus’ statements about heaven, Thomas asked: “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:5-6). Jesus was reiterating that all roads do not lead to heaven. There are not many paths or religions to God. Jesus is the only way to forgiveness, the only source for truth and knowledge about God, and the only route to eternal life.
