.....................................NEWS.....................................

St. Charles SVDP Food Pantry has a new conveyor belt!!
Picture
No more lugging up the boxes of our Oregon Food Bank order – our weekly order can be over 1000+ lbs!

Picture
No more trying to get loaded food boxes down those 10 concrete stairs!
SC SVDP moved into our new Pantry site in September 2020.

And…
we had a problem – actually, 10 problems AKA as 10 concrete stairs!
These stairs posed mobility challenges to our Pantry’s visiting clients
and working volunteers.

Having limited funds to solve a potential safety issue, we had to think “outside the box.”

Born from a brainstorming idea: “How about a conveyor belt??” our
new conveyor belt was installed by Schommer Construction in
October 2020. It is the newest addition to our Pantry, has two motors
and can move in two directions.

Besides being SC SVDP’s major food supplier, the Oregon Food Bank
also gave us a Network Support Fund grant that paid 90% of the
conveyor belt price tag!

Our thanks to all!
