4th Sunday of Lent
Theme: The gospel tells the story of the Prodigal Son. The idea that God would more joyfully celebrate and honor those who have not been so stalwart can be hard to swallow. But our ideas of God’s love are limited by our human experience. God simply loves fully and greatly for all of us to receive. Having a place in God’s house is not a competitive game. In the Eucharist God offers us abundant life and sustains us on our journey. Let us understand that we journey to God together and that He wants to bless us all with full and abundant life.

Sunday PrayerIntercessionsDrawing near to the Lord who always hears us, we offer our prayers and petitions...
For the Church throughout the world: may we fill the hungry with good things, bring comfort to the sorrowful, and hope to the afflicted . . Lord of Hope: Hear our prayer . . . May all world leaders seek your peace in a world filled with turmoil; may they achieve justice and unity: . . . Lord of Hope: . . . Hear our prayer. May those who feel trapped in a relentless cycle of work with financial strain, may they find ways and help to care for themselves physically, emotionally and spiritually... Lord of Hope: Hear our prayer.. . . May we, welcome the “stranger in our midst”, seeing their plight a guide to increase our spirit of compassion, Lord of Hope: Hear our prayer.. . . For all who have asked for our prayers, let us give love and compassion to one another, not knowing their concerns of mind or heart Lord of Hope: . . . For our own personal intentions . . . Lord of Hope: . . . Loving God, you save the poor from distress and deliver us all from our fears. Hear our prayers this day as we pray for ourselves, our country, and for all the world. We ask this through Christ our Lord. . . Amen.
