Last weekend our housing justice initiative linked up with the Fire department to install smoke detectors in the Arbor trailer park.  Many will remember the mobile home fire that killed a man on 72nd and Killingsworth in January 2017.   Smoke detectors are so important for the safety.  Together, we installed 180 smoke alarms in 55 homes!!  Almost 100 volunteer hours were put into this event!!  It was a tremendous success.
On May 13th we will be joining with the Red Cross to install smoke alarms in the Cedar Shade.  If you are interested in volunteering please contact Brenna at 612-360-5682 or bbailey@stcharlespdx.org

    ST. CHARLES

Catholic social teaching is built on a commitment to the poor. This commitment arises from our experiences of Christ in the Eucharist.
