The Social Justice Committee is currently discerning if our partnership with the Interfaith Alliance on Poverty (IAP) should be solidified, if St. Charles should become an official member of the Alliance.  Here is the IAP's march news letter.  If you are a St. Charles parishioner and think you might be interested in getting involved in the IAP, please contact our Pastoral Associate, Gabriel Triplett at gabet@stcharlespdx.org

  • “What You Need to Know About Oregon’s Tax and Budget System” will be explained by Juan Carlos Ordonez, Communication Director with the Oregon Coalition of Public Policy at the 1st Thursday meeting of the Interfaith Alliance on March 7, at Westminster Presbyterian (12-2 PM)
  • Central City Concern Reports on Portland Poverty: Dr. Eowyn Rieke,MD, MPH; Gary Cobb, Community Outreach Coordinator; and Mercedes Elizalde, Director of Public Policies shared their views regarding the need for affordable housing and adequate health services, discussing the “Housing Is Health Initiative” and Blackburn Center.
