Images of Calling - Nov 11, 2018

We seek to utilize the Visual Faith process to creatively imagine how God might be calling us in our lives, and our response to that call. The Visual Faith process utilizes images to spur creativity, tie to our own story, as well as to stories of Scripture.
Here's what we did!
  1. Eat. We started with a terrific meal of soup, roles, and salad.
  2. Sing. We sang the GIFT song. Listen to it here.
  3. Pray. We prayed the GIFT prayer. See it here.
  4. Listen. Michael Schmich shared about a time when he felt God at work in his life, and how he responded. Watch the video on this page.
  5. Visual Faith Process. All participants engaged in three rounds of the Visual Faith process. Each round started with a video clip, and the focused on a question, from which participants would choose a photo from the table that represented their response to the question. They would then share in table groups. The questions were a) Recall a time when you felt God at work in your life. b) Who has been an agent of God's calling for you? c) What have learned about God's calling in times of suffering?
  6. Discuss. We concluded by sharing reflections about the Visual Faith Process: What did you like about it? How did the images put you in touch with your feelings and experiences?
  7. Sing. We ended by singing the GIFT song.
