We seek to 1) learn about saints and heroes who responded to God’ call in their lives and made a difference in the world, 2) grow in our understanding that God calls each one of us to a life of service and faith, 3) contemplate how God might call each one of us at this point in our lives.
Here's what we did!
  1. Eat. We started with a terrific meal of soup, bread, and ice cream cups.
  2. Sing. We sang the GIFT song. Listen to it here.
  3. Pray. We prayed the GIFT prayer. See it here.
  4. Discuss. We formed intergenerational groups and shared about a persons we know who have responded to God's call in their lives. Some names were shared with the large.
  5. Share. As a large group we brainstormed a list of characteristics of persons who respond to God's call.
  6. View. We moved into the church and viewed the gallery of nineteen heroes of faith who have responded to God's call and made a difference in the world. View the gallery below.
  7. Discuss. In table groups we discussed these questions: Which faith hero impacted you the most? Did you learn anything new as you viewed the gallery?
  8. Reflect, Write, & Share. Participants were then invited to reflect and write their response to this question: How are you trying to respond to God's call in your life?
  9. Sing. We ended by singing the GIFT song.
