G I F T
Called to be in Tune with God - Feb 24, 2019

If God is like a song is playing all around us all the time, the song is playing everywhere, it’s written on our hearts, and everybody is playing the song, then the question isn’t whether or not you’re playing a song, the question is, “Are you in tune?” – Rob Bell

NOOMA 011 Rhythm with Rob Bell-HD from Certificate in Faith Formation on Vimeo.

Here's what we did!
  1. Eat. We started with a terrific meal and enjoyed one another's company.
  2. Sing. We sang the GIFT song. Listen to it here.
  3. Pray. We prayed the GIFT prayer. See it here.
  4. Share. In table groups we shared responses to these questions: What's your favorite piece of music? What's a song that moves you? If God is like a song, what would the song be? And who would play it?
  5. Video. We viewed and discussed the video Rhythm by Rob Bell (see video in left column).
  6. Read and Reflect. We listened to I Become An Instrument of God from the book May I Have This Dance by Joyce Rupp:
  7. Activity. Who are the people you have known who were instruments of God for you? What kind of melodies did you hear in them? How did those melodies affect your life?
  8. Pray. We concluded with A Litany of Being God's Instrument of Goodness by Joyce Rupp.
