“Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky?” These past 40 days have been a turmoil for all the disciples. Jesus is condemned, crucified, buried and then he rises. He appears to the women first, giving them the commission to tell the others that Jesus is risen. Jesus then appears to all the disciples, off and on, for the next 40 days.

Fifth Sunday of Easter
May 14, 2017
Listen to Joan's reflection.
I’m So excited for you– I know you have been working hard to learn all you can about what it means to receive Jesus in Communion –
When you were baptized, your parents made a promise to raise you in our Catholic Faith – They chose that for you because they value their own relationship with God and they want you to have a special relationship with Jesus too. So, you have been studying and learning about how we believe that Jesus is present to us in the bread and wine, right?

Fifth Sunday of Easter (Mother's Day Weekend)
May 13, 2017
Listen to Kate's reflection or read the text below.
Asked by Leif if I would give the Reflection on the Word for this evening's mass, I immediately declined because I was already committed to an annual beach trip for Mother's Day. Yet, I felt really honored to have been offered this vote of confidence, and so decided to challenge myself to write the reflection anyway . . . just to see.

Third Sunday of Easter
by Leif Kehrwald
Listen to the recording . . . or read the text below.
On a warm fall Saturday afternoon, some time ago, when I was a senior in high school, I met a girl named Robin. She was a senior at a neighboring high school. She and her friends were hanging out with me and my buddies. She was pretty. She was cool, and I wanted to be her friend. At the end of that day she invited me and my buddies to her youth group. We all said yes. So she said she would give us all a ride on Sunday night. When Sunday night came around, I was the only one waiting for her. No problem. I liked Robin.
